Baby Blankets!!! The whole month--new colors and my attempt each year to anticipate my summer needs! The supersoft loose twist cotton mixed with cotton chenille make a towel-weight snuggly fabric from which I have made shawls, scarves and larger blankets on custom requests. Hemmed for machine friendly laundering, these blankets are as durable as they are beautiful.

Poinsettia Scarves

OK, so I missed Christmas by a mile with these--they're still gorgeous any time of the year! On a dark red silk warp I filled one with angora, one with cashmere/silk, one with bamboo, one with contrasting red silk and one with the same colored silk. They are all slightly different, but obviously close kin. Their beauty and elegance they have in common, and the warp has a tiny touch of sparkles in it. Nothing makes me happier than threading a red, twinkly warp for the holidays. I just wish I could do justice with a photo...

Autumn Leaves Wraps

I love the colors of the fall and am always dismayed at the shortness of the season! This year I went all out with three Bamboo scarves in Sharkwater Twill. The terra cotta color shown below is the same color warp and weft, but in this etched three-dimensional twill the feathery pattern is still obvious to the eye. I also have one filled with a deeper reddish weft and one with a yellow weft. They are wide enough for wearing on the shoulders or can be easily compressed for a wrapped scarf. The bamboo's drape is unparalleled, especially in a twill structure. They all have hand twisted fringes for easy care and hand washability.

Finally I had to throw a bone to the lovers of gold; silver gets far more inventory space since it is my own preference. But for those who love to wear gold jewelry, here is one for you. This flowered twill shawl is light gauge silk with just a touch of metallic (yes, because I can't help it!). It compresses nicely to a scarf weight or can be opened for an exceptionally gorgeous shoulder wrap. Wearable art at its finest--this is a beauty!

This is a gorgeously fine silk scarf in 60/2 silk for a featherweight summer accessory wrap. The warp is silver silk with strands of metallic to make it a bit more formal for evening wear. The fabric is so fine that my photo gives only a sense of it. There is a zigzag configuration of diamond patterning with intermittent silver sparkles. It is generously wide and can be worn wrapped or dropped on the shoulders. I have it with hemmed edges or twisted fringes. There always has to be a silver scarf, and this is the one for this year!

Dragon Twill Scarves--another one named by my son! This superbly intricate twill is very sophisticated in a taupe brown with neutral fill colors. I have black on taupe (sold), ivory on taupe (sold), deep brown on taupe and taupe on taupe (part of my "invisible design series"). All have hand-twisted shiny taupe fringes and a drape and elegance that can only be found in fine gauge silk threads.

Another variation on the Scandinavian Advancing Twills, this one is particularly nice in pink. The photograph does not do justice to the metallic threads interspersed with the silk threads which give it a subtle sparkle in the light. This shawl is a generous 36" x 78", not including its twisted fringes. The fringes, by the way, take as long as the weaving of the cloth!

Starry, Starry Twill--
This beautiful twill is almost three-dimensional in its appearance. Hence, it is splendid in a solid colored arrangement, but I have woven it with dark on light with excellent results as well. I recommend silk or bamboo with this structure, else the delicate pattern might get lost in fuzz.

These scarves are 6" wide x 72" with hand sewn fringes in 20/2 silk.
